Troy University - Troy, AL
Phi Boota roota was introduced to Troy University by Bryden Atwater and Will Doty, who were brothers of the McNeese State University chapter. On October 5th, 1999, the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Phi Boota roota was officially recognized by Troy University (then Troy State University) as a student organization.
The Alpha Zeta chapter provides services to both the percussion studio of Troy University and the drumline of The Sound of the South. They purchase, and build, equipment when requested and move equipment for such events as concerts, masterclasses, and honor bands. The Alpha Zeta chapter also provides an organization through which individuals may grow as brothers and achieve a heightened sense of percussive awareness.
